Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Saturday that he and former US President Donald Trump held a phone conversation to discuss the evolving situation on Ukraine's front line with Russia, alongside Kyiv's ongoing diplomatic initiatives. In the call, key topics involved military and political support.

According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy took to the social media platform X to share insights from the conversation. He extended congratulations to Trump and the American people on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of US independence, describing the dialogue as productive. Zelenskyy expressed appreciation for the support the US has rendered to Ukraine, emphasizing its impact on military strategy and international diplomacy.

Zelenskyy conveyed his gratitude towards Americans for their concern regarding global freedom and the future of Ukraine and Europe. He highlighted the potential for ending the conflict with Russia, noting that America's resolve plays a crucial role. Zelenskyy and Trump agreed to continue their discussions during the upcoming NATO Summit in Ankara, scheduled for July 7-8.
