Ankara: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Ankara on Tuesday to attend the 36th NATO summit. Zelenskyy's aircraft landed at the Esenboga Airport, where he was welcomed by Turkish Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy and other officials.

According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy expressed on US social media platform X that "important work" lies ahead and that they expect a "strong and productive" summit. He emphasized the need for decisions that will enhance protection for the Ukrainian people, bolster defense capabilities, and strengthen security cooperation with Europe and the United States. The president also mentioned nearly 20 planned bilateral meetings during the summit.

Zelenskyy highlighted Ukraine's focus on bolstering its air defense, stating that new systems, missiles, and production licenses are priorities. The NATO summit, which continues through Wednesday, will see allied leaders discuss defense investment, military support for Ukraine, and efforts to expand the alliance's defense industrial base.
