Hebron: Eight Palestinians, including children, were injured Tuesday in an Israeli occupier attack in the Huwara area of Hebron province in the southern occupied West Bank, while the Israeli army arrested an elderly Palestinian man during the assault.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that its teams treated eight individuals, including children, who were injured after Israeli occupiers beat them in Huwara. The injured were subsequently taken to a hospital for further treatment.

Local sources informed Anadolu that the occupiers attacked Palestinian homes in Huwara, assaulting residents with beatings and pepper spray, resulting in several injuries. During the incident, the Israeli army arrested an elderly Palestinian, Ibrahim Ismail al-Jabour, although his age was not immediately disclosed.

The region, like other areas of the West Bank, has been subject to repeated occupier attacks targeting Palestinians, their property, and livelihoods under the protection of the Israeli army.

A report by the official Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission highlighted that occupiers carried out 3,488 attacks during the first half of this year, encompassing assaults on Palestinian villages, burning homes, opening fire, seizing land, and establishing illegal settlement outposts. These attacks have resulted in the deaths of 17 Palestinians.

Approximately 750,000 occupiers reside in 141 illegal settlements and 224 illegal settlement outposts in the occupied West Bank, with 250,000 in 15 illegal settlements in occupied East Jerusalem. These occupiers engage in daily attacks aimed at forcibly displacing Palestinians.

The West Bank has witnessed a significant escalation in attacks by the Israeli army and occupiers since October 8, 2023, leading to the deaths of 1,179 Palestinians, injuries to 12,666 others, and the arrest of about 24,000 individuals.
