Moscow: Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Tuesday that Russia is closely monitoring developments at the NATO summit in Ankara, with expectations that discussions will primarily focus on Russia. "Without a doubt, this event is generating a great deal of interest, including our own. We will, of course, be monitoring all the news and information coming from Ankara," Peskov remarked during a press briefing in Moscow.

According to Anadolu Agency, Peskov highlighted that Russia had heard numerous statements ahead of the summit concerning its stance, describing them as confrontational rather than aimed at dialogue or constructive engagement. He emphasized the need to observe the outcomes of the summit, including statements, signed documents, and bilateral meetings.

Peskov addressed the issue of NATO arms deliveries to Ukraine, asserting that they will not deter Russia from continuing its military operation until its objectives are met. He noted Ukraine's ongoing requests for new weapons and maintained that these requests would not impact Russia's military goals.

Despite the tensions, Peskov mentioned that Russia maintains working-level contacts with the US and expressed hope that Washington's efforts to move the conflict towards a peaceful settlement would be successful. He reiterated Russia's openness to dialogue and diplomatic solutions, as emphasized by President Putin.

Peskov also reported on the ongoing military operations, specifically mentioning the capture of Ukraine's stronghold of Kostiantynivka and efforts to establish a "security" or "buffer" zone along the border. He reiterated Russia's preference for a diplomatic resolution, contingent on the Kyiv regime's willingness to make necessary decisions for peace.
