Jerusalem: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Thursday that the conflict with Iran is far from over, amidst rising military tensions between Tehran and Washington in recent days. "The war has not ended. There are new challenges," Netanyahu remarked during an air force graduation ceremony at Hatzerim Air Base in southern Israel, as reported by the daily Yedioth Ahronoth.

According to Anadolu Agency, Netanyahu emphasized the importance of maintaining air superiority as a cornerstone of Israel's national security strategy, crucial for ensuring stability in the volatile Middle East. The situation has escalated as Iran and the US engaged in attacks over the past two days following Iranian assaults on three commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a significant development earlier this year, Israel and the US conducted joint military operations against Iran in February, resulting in the deaths of more than 3,000 individuals, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In response, Tehran launched drone and missile attacks targeting Israel and Gulf countries that host US assets.

Adding to the tension, Israeli Army Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir stated that the military campaign against Iran is ongoing. "On the drawing board are new plans. Major operations are still expected to lie ahead of us. Be prepared," Zamir cautioned in brief remarks.

Despite a Pakistan-brokered memorandum of understanding reached on June 17 aimed at ending the military conflict between Iran and the US, the situation took a turn for the worse. On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump declared the memorandum 'over,' effectively nullifying the agreement and setting off a new wave of military confrontations.
