Iran: Iran's state railway authority announced that train service has resumed on a rail line in Mashhad after a US attack caused damage to the infrastructure. Jabar Ali Zakeri, the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways, confirmed that engineers managed to rebuild one of the damaged tracks and restore service in less than 15 hours following the US strike.

According to Anadolu Agency, Zakeri noted that reconstruction efforts on the second damaged line are ongoing and expected to be completed shortly. The attack had led to a suspension of passenger rail services between Tehran and Mashhad earlier in the day.

Iran's state broadcaster IRIB reported that passenger train operations on this key route were halted after the strike, which damaged a section of the railway line. Iranian state media had reported earlier that the Aq Tekeh Khan Bridge in Golestan province was hit by a projectile.

Axios reported that a US official confirmed the American military targeted two railway bridges in northern Iran using cruise missiles as part of the strikes on Wednesday. This incident marks the first US strike on Iranian transportation infrastructure since a ceasefire took effect on April 8.
