Moldova: Moldova's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday called in Russia's ambassador to Chisinau after it said a Russian drone had violated the country's airspace the previous day.
According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry issued a statement on Telegram, announcing that the ambassador received a note of protest concerning what was described as a "serious violation of national sovereignty and the risks created for the security of citizens." The ministry called on Russia to refrain from any actions that might jeopardize Moldova's security and emphasized the importance of respecting the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The incident occurred on Monday when a drone reportedly crossed into Moldovan airspace and subsequently exploded after crashing near the southeastern village of Copanca. This happened during what Moldovan officials described as a suspected Russian attack on Ukraine's Odesa region. The ministry remarked, "This new incident constitutes a serious and unacceptable violation of the airspace of the Republic of Moldova and confirms once again that the war of aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine generates direct risks to the security of our citizens and the entire region."
As of now, Russia has not issued any comments regarding Moldova's claims.
