Erbil: Nechirvan Barzani, president of the Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government (IKRG) in Iraq, stated that the region places high importance on its robust partnership with Trkiye. This declaration was made in a post commemorating the 10th anniversary of the July 15, 2016 coup attempt carried out by members of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO).

According to Anadolu Agency, Barzani expressed solidarity with Trkiye, honoring the memory of those who lost their lives defending Trkiye's democracy and constitutional order during the coup attempt. He conveyed this message on the US social media platform X, emphasizing the region's support on this day of remembrance.

Barzani acknowledged the significant transformations Trkiye has experienced over the past decade under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He highlighted Trkiye's enhanced role as a leading regional power, as well as its advancements in economic development, infrastructure, and international influence.

Furthermore, Barzani reiterated the IKRG's commitment to strengthening its close ties and cooperation with Trkiye. He emphasized the shared goals of regional peace, stability, and prosperity as central to the partnership with President Erdogan and the Republic of Trkiye.
