Kuwait city: Several Kuwaiti soldiers were injured Friday morning after Iranian drones targeted multiple military facilities and bases in the country, the Kuwaiti army said.
According to Anadolu Agency, the army released a statement revealing that Chief of General Staff Lt. Gen. Khaled Daraj Saad Al-Shuraian and Deputy Chief of General Staff Air Vice Marshal Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah visited the injured members of the Kuwaiti Land Forces. The statement clarified that the soldiers sustained injuries when Iranian drones struck several military facilities and camps in Kuwait. However, the statement did not disclose the number of casualties or identify the specific sites that were targeted.
During their visit, the military commanders were briefed by medical teams about the condition of the wounded soldiers and the treatment being provided. The announcement of these strikes comes amid a broader regional confrontation between Iran and the United States. On Friday, Tehran declared that its forces had targeted US military assets in Kuwait, Oman, Syria, Jordan, Bahrain, and Qatar as part of retaliatory strikes.
Previously, Kuwait stated that its air defenses had intercepted Iranian missiles and drones that were aimed at the country.
