Sanaa: French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed Gabonese President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema at the Elysee Palace on Monday, aiming to strengthen political and economic ties during the Gabonese leader's official visit.

According to Anadolu Agency, French and Gabonese officials formalized a series of cooperation agreements, although the specifics of these documents have not been fully disclosed. This visit marks a significant step in the ongoing collaboration between the two nations.

In addition, French mining and metals company Eramet announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Gabonese government. The agreement focuses on expanding local manganese processing, with Eramet operating Gabon's manganese mines through its subsidiary, Comilog. The industrial roadmap outlined in the agreement is designed to increase value-added production in Gabon and support new industrial projects and job creation.

Gabonese presidency spokesperson Theophane Nzame-Nze Biyoghe highlighted that the discussions would allow both leaders to review agreements established during President Macron's visit to Libreville in November of the previous year. This visit marks President Oligui Nguema's second official trip to France since assuming his position.
