Erbil Airport Suspends Flights Amid Security Concerns

Ankara: Erbil International Airport suspended all inbound and outbound flights on Tuesday evening following a wave of attacks targeting the city and its airspace, the airport's director said.

According to Anadolu Agency, Ahmed Hoshyar informed the Iraqi News Agency that flight operations were temporarily halted due to the security situation. He assured that services would resume once conditions stabilize and the situation returns to normal.

The announcement came after reports from Iraqi media indicated that three suicide drones were intercepted and shot down over Erbil. This followed a series of powerful explosions heard across the city, contributing to the heightened security measures.
