Explosions Reported on Iran’s Lark Island Amid US Strikes

Ankara: Three explosions were heard Wednesday on Iran's Lark Island and at the port of Sirik near the Strait of Hormuz amid US strikes, Iranian state television reported. The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting noted that the explosions occurred at these two locations but did not provide immediate information on casualties or damage.

According to Anadolu Agency, the report surfaced hours after the semi-official Fars news agency mentioned explosions near Sirik and south of Qeshm Island in Iran's southern Hormozgan province. This development comes as the US has engaged in a series of strikes across Iran since last week. In response, Tehran has launched attacks targeting facilities and bases it claims are used by the US military in various countries in the region.

The exchange of fire between the two nations has persisted, despite a framework agreement brokered by Pakistan and signed by the US and Iran in June. The agreement aimed to end the conflict that began in February and intended to pave the way for a lasting peace deal.
