Ankara: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed on Sunday that overnight Russian strikes killed one person and injured 12 others across Ukraine.
According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy stated that three individuals sustained injuries during a ballistic missile attack on Kyiv. Additionally, a drone strike on residential buildings in the Kharkiv region resulted in one fatality and nine injuries, including two children.
"My condolences to their families and loved ones," Zelenskyy expressed on the US social media platform X. He mentioned that State Emergency Service units are actively working to extinguish a fire at a building supply hypermarket in Kryvyi Rih.
Zelenskyy reported that Russia launched eight missiles and 136 drones overnight, with many being intercepted. He indicated that the attacks targeted several regions including Kyiv, Kherson, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Chernihiv.
Furthermore, he highlighted that over the past week, Russia has launched nearly 1,700 drones, more than 1,630 guided bombs, and 95 missiles against Ukraine, with over half being ballistic missiles.
Meanwhile, Russia's Defense Ministry claimed its forces conducted overnight precision strikes on Ukraine's military-industrial facilities in Kyiv and infrastructure at the port of Chornomorsk in the Odesa region, which is used for receiving and storing military cargo and fuel for Ukrainian forces. The ministry also reported that 1,333 Ukrainian drones were intercepted and destroyed across Ukraine, in annexed Crimea, and over the Black Sea.
Independent verification of these claims remains challenging due to the ongoing conflict.
