Beirut: Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree to increase the staffing levels of the country's armed forces to a total of 2,426,130 people, including 1,535,000 military personnel.

According to Anadolu Agency, the decree was published on the government portal and states that this increase is in connection with the creation of military construction units within the Russian Armed Forces. The new staffing levels are set to take effect on August 1.

This move marks a rise of 27,000 in the overall staffing levels and an increase of 25,000 in military personnel compared to a decree Putin signed last month. On June 12, the staffing level of the armed forces was adjusted to 2,399,130, with 1,510,000 being military personnel.
