Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced on Tuesday that Ankara remains committed to supporting efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict in Sudan, addressing humanitarian needs, and contributing to the country's reconstruction. Fidan emphasized Trkiye's dedication to these initiatives during a meeting with Sudanese Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Mohieddin Salem.

According to Anadolu Agency, Fidan's remarks were made public on the US social media platform X, highlighting the comprehensive discussions held between the two ministers in Ankara. The talks focused on strengthening bilateral political, economic, and trade relations, as well as addressing regional developments in the Horn of Africa and global security issues.

The meeting also saw the signing of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the Diplomacy Academy of the Turkish Foreign Ministry and the Diplomatic Institute of Sudan's Foreign and International Cooperation Ministry. This agreement underscores the commitment of both nations to enhance diplomatic relations and knowledge exchange.

Fidan reaffirmed Trkiye's principled stance on maintaining Sudan's independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. He expressed a desire to continue deepening relations with Sudan, citing historic and deep-rooted ties, and emphasized the importance of mutual respect and equal partnership in these efforts.
