Beirut: Iran's deputy foreign minister announced that Tehran's final proposal to Oman regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz includes a demand for one shipping lane to be under Iran's exclusive control, with partial control over a second lane.

According to Anadolu Agency, Kazem Gharibabadi, while speaking on Iranian state television, revealed that Oman suggested a temporary shipping route to replace the existing northern and southern routes through the strait. The Omani proposal involved equal control of the route between Iran and Oman, which Tehran dismissed.

Gharibabadi emphasized that Iran's position is firm, requiring complete control over one shipping lane and partial control over another. He warned that if Oman does not agree to these terms, the strait will remain closed, and Iran is prepared for the potential of renewed conflict.
