Kyiv: At least nine people were killed and 28 others injured in a Russian attack on Ukraine's capital Kyiv, the city's mayor said Saturday.

According to Anadolu Agency, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported the casualties on Telegram, attributing the attack to Russia, Ukraine's adversary in the protracted conflict. Klitschko confirmed that among the injured were four children.

Seventeen of the injured individuals are currently receiving treatment in hospitals, while others received medical assistance either on an outpatient basis or directly at the scene, Klitschko added.
