Washington: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has stated that Iran is encountering a distinct type of US president in Donald Trump. "I don't think the Iranian regime has ever faced a president like President Trump, which is someone that actually takes action," Rubio mentioned during an interview with Fox News on Saturday.

According to Anadolu Agency, Rubio elaborated that for the past 20 or 30 years, Iran had become accustomed to not only the US but also the broader international community allowing them to bypass accountability through deceitful practices, breaking agreements, and misleading parties into deals.

On the topic of peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, Rubio remarked, "You are going to see some efforts over the next few weeks to see if we can restart talks between the two sides and bring this war to an end." He acknowledged the existence of strong red lines on both sides, emphasizing that progress would require narrowing these differences.

Addressing the potential for conflict between the US and China, Rubio warned that any conflict, whether economic or military, would have catastrophic consequences for both nations and the world at large. He stressed the importance of managing the situation without compromising national interests, highlighting this as the challenging aspect of foreign policy.
