Rabat: Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip over the past two days have resulted in civilian casualties and the destruction of essential medical supplies, according to the Board of Peace's lead envoy, Nickolay Mladenov. Mladenov highlighted the situation on Sunday, emphasizing the impact of the strikes on the region.

According to Anadolu Agency, Mladenov stated that the escalation followed "intense efforts" by the Board of Peace, along with mediators from Egypt, Trkiye, Qatar, and the US, to gain Palestinian factions' agreement on a roadmap for implementing US President Donald Trump's Gaza plan. The roadmap aims for Palestinian factions in Gaza to relinquish civilian governance and decommission their weapons.

Mladenov noted that both parties have obligations under the Comprehensive Plan and the Sharm El-Sheikh deal, which secured the release of all hostages. He and his team are actively collaborating with the involved parties, mediators, and regional partners to de-escalate tensions and facilitate the roadmap's full implementation.

The recent Israeli attacks have claimed the lives of at least 18 Palestinians, including three children and an unborn baby, and have wounded several others. These incidents are part of the latest ceasefire violations since the agreement took effect on October 10, 2025. A day prior, eight Palestinians were killed, and others were injured in similar strikes.

Gaza's Health Ministry issued a warning on Saturday regarding the imminent collapse of the enclave's medical system. The warning follows the destruction of a drug warehouse at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital by Israeli forces, exacerbating the severe shortages of medicines and medical supplies.
