Istanbul: Istanbul Airport served a record 289,260 passengers on Saturday, Trkiye's transport and infrastructure minister said. Abdulkadir Uraloglu announced in a written statement that the airport set a new passenger record on August 1.

According to Anadolu Agency, Uraloglu emphasized that Istanbul Airport reached the highest daily passenger total of all time in Trkiye and Europe. He highlighted the airport's strategic importance in international aviation.

Uraloglu stated that Istanbul Airport ranks among the world's leading airports due to its capacity, strong infrastructure, and quality of service. He further noted that this new record underscores the airport's position as a global transfer hub.
