Accra: Two Israeli ministers have urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to block the deployment of an international stabilization force in the Gaza Strip.

According to Anadolu Agency, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Settlement Minister Orit Strock sent an urgent letter to Netanyahu, demanding the immediate convening of Israel's Security Cabinet. They called for the suspension of the International Stabilization Force (ISF) entry into Gaza, arguing that the decision was based on 'incorrect information' and that the Board of Peace's roadmap for the Palestinian enclave poses a danger to Israel. They assert that it contradicts efforts to disarm Hamas and demilitarize Gaza.

Last week, Israel's Security Cabinet approved the deployment of the ISF in Gaza as part of US President Donald Trump's plan. This force is one of four bodies established to administer Gaza under Trump's plan, which received endorsement from the UN Security Council through Resolution 2803 on November 17, 2025.

On Friday, the Board of Peace released a draft agreement outlining the principles and implementation mechanisms for the next phase of Trump's Gaza plan. This includes security, administrative, and transitional arrangements in the enclave, along with a proposed political track.

Opposition Leader Yair Lapid has challenged the ministers to identify those who provided the Cabinet with 'incorrect information.' In a statement, Lapid asked, 'Since this is a diplomatic matter that was finalized with the Americans, could you specify who exactly delivered this incorrect information to you in the cabinet?' He further questioned whether a senior Cabinet member managed the talks with the Americans and provided the misleading information, emphasizing that such serious accusations should be clearly substantiated.
