Ad dali: Yemeni government forces announced on Saturday that they carried out drone strikes targeting Houthi positions in the southwestern region of Ad Dali. The military operation reportedly resulted in significant casualties and destruction of military resources belonging to the Houthis.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Southern Armed Forces, led by Presidential Leadership Council member Abdul Rahman al-Muharrami, issued a statement on X, a US-based social media platform, detailing the strikes. The statement revealed that the drone attacks were directed at Houthi military barracks, vehicles, and positions on the Bab Ghalaq, Al-Fakher, and Maris fronts in northern Ad Dali.

The statement further elaborated that the strikes successfully hit Houthi barracks, trenches, tunnels, troop concentrations, and military vehicles. Additionally, a video was released, allegedly showing the drone strikes targeting Houthi positions and movements along the front lines.

The military action was reportedly a response to the movement and reinforcement of Houthi troops along the front lines, aimed at countering any activities perceived as threats to their positions in Ad Dali. The Houthis have not yet commented on the claims made by the Yemeni government forces.

Fighting in Yemen has seen periodic intensification along various fronts since last month, resulting in numerous casualties and injuries on both sides. Yemen has experienced a relative lull in conflict since April 2022, following nearly 12 years of war between government forces, supported by a Saudi-led coalition, and the Iranian-backed Houthis, who have controlled the capital Sanaa and significant parts of the country since 2014.
