Iran’s Supreme Leader Confirmed in Good Health After Lengthy Meeting

Tehran: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has assured that Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is in "full physical health" following an extensive seven-hour meeting. Pezeshkian made the announcement during a session reported by the semi-official Tasnim news agency, clarifying any concerns regarding Khamenei's wellbeing.

According to Anadolu Agency, the official IRNA news agency earlier announced the duration and focus of the meeting, which was aimed at discussing the various challenges facing Iran. President Pezeshkian stated that the Supreme Leader not only provided guidance but also attentively engaged with the concerns presented to him, demonstrating both physical and cognitive alertness.

The primary focus of their discussions revolved around critical issues such as the population's livelihoods, employment opportunities, and housing concerns, all exacerbated by ongoing sanctions. Pezeshkian emphasized the Supreme Leader's advice on maintaining unity and cohesion among the Iranian populace during these challenging times.

Iran has been embroiled in a military conflict with the United States since February, when the US and Israel launched a joint offensive against Tehran. In retaliation, Iran targeted regional countries hosting US military assets, escalating tensions further. Despite a ceasefire agreement in April and a subsequent memorandum of understanding in June aimed at peace, the deal unraveled last month. This led to renewed hostilities until US President Donald Trump unexpectedly ceased the bombardment, hinting at potential diplomatic resolutions.
