Istanbul: Besiktas, Basaksehir, and the newly promoted Amedspor kicked off their 2026-27 Turkish Super Lig campaigns with victories on Sunday, while Eyupspor ended their match with 10 men in a narrow defeat.
According to Anadolu Agency, Besiktas secured a 1-0 win over Eyupspor at Tupras Stadium. The match's only goal was scored by Vaclav Cerny before halftime, thanks to a well-played pass from Olaitan, which Cerny controlled before slotting the ball into the bottom-left corner. Besiktas nearly doubled their lead early in the second half when Cerny's free kick hit the post. Eyupspor's Taylan Bulut had a close attempt, but their chances diminished when Costa received a second yellow card in the 68th minute. Besiktas maintained pressure, with Orkun Kokcu narrowly missing from a free kick, ensuring they secured all three points.
In another match, Basaksehir started their season with a 2-0 home victory over Kocaelispor. Christopher Operi scored first in the 14th minute after connecting with a through ball from Abbosbek Fayzullayev. Although Basaksehir had another goal disallowed by a VAR review before halftime, they sealed the win in the 72nd minute when Viktor Claesson's cross allowed Andreas Skov Olsen to assist Eldor Shomurodov, who finished from close range.
Amedspor, making their return to the top flight, celebrated with a 3-0 home victory over Erzurumspor. Dia Saba, an Israeli forward, opened the scoring in the 53rd minute and added another goal eight minutes later with a precise shot from the edge of the penalty area. The final goal came in the 70th minute when Balley set up Gokhan Gul, who scored from inside the penalty area.
These victories ensured that Besiktas, Basaksehir, and Amedspor each earned maximum points from their opening matches of the new Super Lig season.
