Russia Plans to Build Drone Aviation Infrastructure in 35 Regions by 2030

Kazan: Deputy Head of Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency Rosaviatsiya announced on Monday that 35 Russian regions are expected to be equipped with infrastructure for unmanned aviation by 2030. Speaking at the Rostki: Russia and China - Mutually Beneficial Cooperation business forum in Kazan, Andrey Potemkin emphasized that some regions, including Tatarstan, already have this infrastructure in place, while efforts are ongoing in the Russian Far East.

According to Anadolu Agency, Potemkin outlined that the planned infrastructure could facilitate the development of what he referred to as the low-altitude economy, which includes the use of unmanned aircraft for civilian applications. Potemkin further noted that Russia recorded 178,000 unmanned aircraft flights in 2025, marking a 20% increase from 2024. These figures account for flights supported by air traffic management services.

The Rostki forum, held in Kazan from August 16-19, aims to enhance economic and technological cooperation between Russian regions and China.
