Turkish Vice President Announces First Meeting of National Solidarity Law Board

Ankara: Trkiye's Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz announced on Tuesday that a newly formed board, tasked with overseeing the implementation of the National Solidarity and Strengthening Social Cohesion Law, will convene its first meeting on August 24.

According to Anadolu Agency, Yilmaz revealed this development on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal, explaining that the board was established following the recent publication of the law in the Official Gazette. He will serve as the chair of the board, which comprises various ministers and representatives from different institutions.

Yilmaz emphasized that the board's initial meeting will focus on defining its working procedures and principles. Additionally, subcommittees will be established to address specific needs related to the disarmament and dissolution process. The board will also tackle issues that necessitate coordination among state institutions, aiming to enhance national unity, brotherhood, and peace.

Furthermore, Yilmaz highlighted the board's commitment to diligently fulfilling its duties as outlined in Law No. 7595. This law, which lays the groundwork for Trkiye's 'Terror-Free Trkiye' initiative, was enacted following parliamentary approval earlier this month and is now officially in effect.
