Ukraine Reports 10 Fatalities in Russian Missile Strike on Kharkiv Region

Kharkiv: Ukrainian officials announced on Tuesday that a Russian missile strike resulted in the deaths of at least 10 people and left 18 others injured in the northeastern Kharkiv region. The incident has intensified concerns over the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

According to Anadolu Agency, the attack struck an area in the settlement of Pechenihy, impacting a post office and shops surrounded by residential buildings. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy conveyed via a statement on the social media platform X that emergency services managed to extinguish a fire at the site and are currently working to determine the full scope of the incident.

Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine plans to respond to the attack and urged international partners to intensify pressure on Russia. Meanwhile, Kharkiv Governor Oleh Synyehubov initially reported eight injuries on Telegram, later updating the number to 18, and described the event as a missile strike.

Russian authorities have yet to make any official comments regarding the attack. The incident is part of an ongoing pattern where Moscow and Kyiv have targeted each other's logistics centers, port, and energy infrastructure. Both countries continue to assert that their military operations are aimed at legitimate military targets, denying allegations of deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure.
