New york: UN Secretary-General spokesman Stephane Dujarric on Tuesday condemned Israeli airstrikes against Syria, describing them as a 'very worrying violation' of Syria's territorial integrity and airspace. Responding to a question about Israeli strikes against the Abu al-Duhur Military Airbase in Idlib province, Dujarric said the UN had seen the attacks and asked for them to stop.

According to Anadolu Agency, Dujarric stated that the airstrikes should cease, emphasizing the UN's stance against such actions. During a UN briefing, he highlighted the seriousness of these violations and urged for an immediate halt to the military activities.

Turning to the occupied Palestinian territory, Dujarric expressed the UN's deep alarm over the worsening security and humanitarian situation in the occupied West Bank. He reported that Israeli forces had instructed 10 Palestinian families in Tulkarm's Jabal Al Nasr neighborhood to vacate their homes temporarily during military operations near the Nur Shams refugee camp.

He further mentioned the damage caused by Israeli military bulldozers to water and sewage networks during road excavations, which impacted Palestinian land. Once Israeli forces withdrew, families returned to their homes, and municipal crews worked on repairing the damaged infrastructure.

In the Gaza Strip, Dujarric pointed out the immense humanitarian needs, with UN partners continuing to deliver aid and conduct operations where feasible. He cited a UN assessment indicating that only 3% of Gaza's cropland remains accessible and undamaged.

Dujarric also voiced concerns over ongoing Israeli airstrikes, shelling, gunfire, and naval fire impacting civilian areas, particularly west of the yellow line, where the majority of Gaza's population resides.
