Muslim World League Condemns E1 Settlement Plan in East Jerusalem

Riyadh: The Muslim World League has expressed its strong condemnation and rejection of the E1 settlement plan and related settlement activities in occupied East Jerusalem. The League's statement reflects a deep concern over the implications of these activities on the possibility of establishing an independent Palestinian state. According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the General Secretariat of the League issued a statement where Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, the Secretary-General and Chairman of the Muslim Scholars Association, denounced the settlement plan. He highlighted the plan's potential to undermine peace efforts by violating international laws and resolutions, and by supporting acts of violence by settlers against Palestinians. His Eminence urged the international community to fulfill its responsibilities to halt violence and settlement policies that alter the occupied Palestinian territory's geographic and demographic character. He acknowledged the support from the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt, who stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and their rights. The League emphasized that a two-state solution is essential for achieving a lasting peace in the region.
