Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Lithuanian Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevicius engaged in discussions on bilateral relations, as well as regional and global issues, during a phone call. The conversation, as reported by Trkiye's Communications Directorate, took place on Monday, highlighting mutual interests and future collaborations between the two nations.

According to Anadolu Agency, President Erdogan extended his best wishes to Prime Minister Sinkevicius, who assumed his role last month. Erdogan expressed optimism that the relationship between Trkiye and Lithuania would continue to strengthen. He emphasized the importance of enhancing Trkiye's interactions with Lithuania across various sectors, particularly in the defense industry.

Erdogan also reiterated Ankara's commitment to seeking a resolution to the Russia-Ukraine conflict that would ensure lasting peace. Additionally, he conveyed his hopes for Lithuania's success in its forthcoming presidency of the Council of the EU, which is set to begin next January.
