Kuwait: Kuwait on Wednesday condemned the illegal entry of Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz into Syrian territory, stating it violated Syria's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and international law.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry issued a statement expressing the country's disapproval of the Israeli official's unauthorized presence in the Syrian Arab Republic. The ministry described the entry as a breach of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as international law and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement. The ministry urged the international community and the UN Security Council to take responsibility in halting Israel's repeated actions and to compel Israel to withdraw from Syrian territory immediately.

Kuwait reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Syria's sovereignty, territorial integrity, security, and stability. Katz, during his entry on Tuesday, stated that Israel would not vacate Mount Hermon or the security zone as long as there are perceived threats to Israel, as per his office. The Israeli military took control of the buffer zone in December 2024, which Damascus claims violated the 1974 Disengagement Agreement between the two nations.

Israel has occupied the majority of the Golan Heights since 1967. Following the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime in late 2024, Israel declared the Disengagement Agreement void, seizing the buffer zone and other strategic positions, including the Syrian side of Mount Hermon. Israeli forces have conducted frequent incursions into southern Syria, particularly in Daraa and Quneitra provinces, involving arrests, checkpoint deployments, and searches of civilians.
