Iran: Iran is experiencing the 'worst conditions' of economic warfare, President Masoud Pezeshkian said Wednesday, stressing that the country continues to carry out development projects despite mounting pressure.

According to Anadolu Agency, Pezeshkian made these remarks at an online ceremony inaugurating projects carried out by the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development. He emphasized the significant challenges posed by the economic pressures, comparing them to the visible missile warfare, and commended the continuation of development work as commendable under the current circumstances.

Pezeshkian praised those involved in completing the projects, saying their achievements were particularly significant given the pressure and conflict facing the country. He acknowledged that the accomplishments might not have been possible under normal circumstances, highlighting the resilience and determination of those involved.

The Iranian president expressed optimism about achieving better results through public support, greater accountability among officials, and increased participation by businesses and investors. He emphasized the importance of solidarity and support from the public, accountability from officials, and active involvement of the private sector and investors as key factors in swiftly addressing the country's problems.

The situation has been exacerbated since the US withdrew in 2018 from the 2015 nuclear agreement between Iran and world powers. The US reinstated sanctions against Tehran under its 'maximum pressure' campaign, expanding measures targeting Iran's oil exports, financial sector, and international trade links.
