Jenin: An Israeli drone on Friday struck a partially-built home west of Jenin in the occupied West Bank, marking the first aerial strike on the city in nearly 10 months. Following the strike, Israeli forces in the area detained a Palestinian ambulance crew that had arrived on the scene.

According to Anadolu Agency, the strike specifically targeted a half-built home in the Harsh al-Saada area west of Jenin, contradicting initial reports by Israeli media that suggested a vehicle had been the target. Local sources reported the presence of several Palestinian Red Crescent ambulances as Israeli military vehicles were deployed in the vicinity.

The Red Crescent confirmed in a brief statement, "The Israeli army is holding our ambulance crew after it arrived at the targeted house." As of now, there has been no information released about possible casualties or the identities of those targeted in the strike.

Earlier on Friday, the Israeli army issued a statement claiming that Israeli warplanes had "precisely struck" several individuals in the city, though it did not specify who or how many were targeted. The statement did not provide further details on the outcome of the attack.

The occupied West Bank has been experiencing a significant surge in Israeli military activity and attacks by Israeli occupiers since Israel launched its war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023. This escalation has been accompanied by the expansion of illegal Israeli settlement outposts across the West Bank and increased restrictions on the movement of Palestinian residents.
