Bishkek: Russian President Vladimir Putin will conduct a visit to Kyrgyzstan's capital Bishkek to attend the latest summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), his aide Yury Ushakov said on Friday. Ushakov detailed that Putin's entourage will include Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk, and Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Maxim Oreshkin. The summit is scheduled to commence on Monday and will span two days.

According to Anadolu Agency, Ushakov revealed that the summit agenda will focus on strengthening the organization and fostering cooperation across various sectors. Putin is slated to engage in nine bilateral meetings during the event, with participants including notable leaders such as Chinese President Xi Jinping, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The summit will also see the Islamic Republic of Pakistan assuming the chairmanship, with Russia lined up to take over in 2027-2028.

Ushakov mentioned that approximately 20 to 25 documents are being prepared for signing at the summit, including a post-summit declaration. Additionally, a 'SCO Plus' format meeting is scheduled to take place in Bishkek. Following the summit, Putin plans to travel to Vladivostok in the Russian Far East on Tuesday evening to participate in the 11th Eastern Economic Forum, where he will deliver a plenary session address on Wednesday. On the sidelines, he is expected to meet with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang.
