Red sea: Yemeni government forces announced the interception of a shipment containing Iranian drone components intended for the Houthi group. The seizure took place in the Red Sea and was confirmed by Sadiq Dwaid, a spokesman for the National Resistance Forces, through a statement on social media platform X.

According to Anadolu Agency, the pro-government December 2 News Agency plans to release footage of the seized shipment later. The components intercepted by Yemeni naval forces were reportedly meant for the assembly and manufacture of drones, intended to bolster Houthi capabilities. As of now, neither the Houthis nor Iranian officials have commented on these developments.

In a related incident, state-run Al-Yemen TV reported the destruction of a Houthi boat by government forces in the Red Sea. The report indicated that the vessel was unmanned and remotely operated, aimed at attacking ships in the region. No further details were provided, and the Houthis have not issued a statement regarding this incident.

Military tensions in Yemen have escalated, with government forces and Houthis frequently clashing. The Houthis, who have controlled significant areas including the capital Sanaa since 2014, are supported by Iran, while the Yemeni government receives backing from a Saudi-led coalition. The conflict intensified after the Houthis declared a maritime blockade of Saudi Arabia in July.
