Bishkek: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of State Summit in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. The meeting aimed to strengthen bilateral relations and address regional and global issues. According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan emphasized the strategic value of cooperation between Trkiye and Azerbaijan, focusing on energy, infrastructure, and transportation. He highlighted the importance of deepening relations under the principle of "two states, one nation" for mutual benefit. Erdogan also reiterated Trkiye's commitment to facilitating peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, suggesting that such efforts could revitalize the region. Additionally, he extended an invitation to Aliyev for the COP31 summit in Antalya, Trkiye. Following his discussion with Aliyev, Erdogan attended the Irys Ordo Congress Center for a family photo session with other leaders, includin g Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. He also engaged in brief conversations with several leaders during the event. In a separate meeting, Erdogan and Kyrgyz President Japarov, the summit host, discussed enhancing cooperation between Trkiye and Kyrgyzstan in energy, the defense industry, trade, and investment. Erdogan stressed the need for stronger solidarity in security and counter-terrorism efforts. He praised Kyrgyzstan's organization of the SCO summit and the World Nomad Games, inviting Japarov to the upcoming Organization of Turkic States (OTS) summit and COP31 in Trkiye. The meetings included participation from several prominent Turkish officials, such as Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Head of Communications Burhanettin Duran, and National Defense Minister Yasar Guler, among others.
