London: British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband on Tuesday condemned what he described as "appalling settler terrorism" against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, asserting that the government would not stand by and allow the two-state solution to be undermined. Miliband addressed lawmakers in the House of Commons, emphasizing the government's commitment to taking action.

According to Anadolu Agency, Miliband stated, "Over recent weeks, we've also seen appalling settler terrorism and Palestinians driven from their homes." He reiterated that the British government does not want UK companies to be involved in financing, constructing, or advertising new settlements in the occupied West Bank. Miliband stressed the urgency of the situation by stating, "What has happened in Gaza and the West Bank has pricked the conscience of a generation."

He further announced plans to outline a comprehensive set of measures in the coming weeks, reaffirming the government's intention to act. This declaration comes amid a significant rise in attacks by illegal Israeli occupiers across the occupied West Bank. The UN reported in August that violence by Israeli occupiers had reached "unprecedented levels," documenting over 1,430 attacks resulting in casualties or property damage by early August 2026.

In response to a query regarding recent Russian threats over the UK's military support to Kyiv, Miliband affirmed that Britain would not be "intimidated by Russian threats." He reiterated the UK's unwavering support for Ukraine, despite warnings from Russia that British military facilities in Ukraine "and beyond" could be targeted due to Kyiv's use of UK missiles.

Additionally, Miliband addressed climate change, highlighting it as "one of the biggest national security threats we face." This comment followed an announcement by the UK weather agency that summer 2026 was provisionally the warmest ever recorded in the country.
