EU Condemns Russia’s Attempted Drone Attack at Leipzig Airport

Leipzig: European Council President Antonio Costa on Tuesday condemned Russia's 'attempted drone attack' at Leipzig Airport in Germany, reaffirming the EU's solidarity with Berlin. 'We condemn in the strongest possible terms Russia's attempted drone attack at Leipzig Airport,' Costa said on US social media company X. 'Russia must stop its war of aggression against Ukraine, instead of escalating,' he added.

According to Anadolu Agency, Costa emphasized that the EU remains 'strong and united,' asserting that Moscow 'will not prevail.' He stressed that the bloc's support for Ukraine is unwavering. 'The EU stands in full solidarity with Germany,' Costa stated.

Costa further mentioned that the EU would collaborate with Germany and other member states to increase pressure on Russia. This collaborative effort aims to compel Moscow to demonstrate a willingness to change its current course of action. The European Council President reiterated the EU's commitment to supporting Ukraine amidst the ongoing conflict.
