Ankara: Iran launched missile and drone attacks against US positions on Tuesday, Iran's semi-official Fars news agency said. "Field observations indicate Iranian missiles and drones firing at enemy positions," the agency reported.

According to Anadolu Agency, the report emerged following an announcement by the US Central Command (CENTCOM) that American forces had commenced strikes on IRGC targets within Iran. Tensions between Tehran and Washington have escalated since the conflict began with strikes on Iranian soil in late February.

In an attempt to ease hostilities, a framework deal was brokered in June with mediation from Pakistani and Qatari officials. Despite this, the US initiated a two-week bombing campaign in July and reimposed a naval blockade due to ongoing disputes over navigation in the strait.
