Ankara: Uber announced Wednesday that it will reduce its workforce by about 10% as part of an effort to streamline its organizational structure and speed up decision-making.
According to Anadolu Agency, Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi conveyed in a message to employees that management layers would be reduced, team structures simplified, and certain roles reorganized. The message highlighted that most affected employees have already been informed of the changes.
The announcement clarified that the workforce reduction is not related to the company's financial performance or employees' individual contributions. Instead, the decision aims to simplify what has become a complex organizational structure as the company expanded, making it more agile and efficient.
The message further elaborated that a smaller and simpler organizational structure would facilitate faster decision-making. The savings realized from this restructuring are intended to be allocated towards growth, innovation, and future investments.
