Israeli Army Conducts Extensive Military Drill in Occupied Golan Heights

Tel aviv: The Israeli army announced on Thursday the completion of a significant military exercise along the Syrian border and within the occupied Golan Heights. This exercise involved collaboration between the 210th Division, neighboring sector forces, the Home Front Command, local authorities, and emergency and rescue agencies.

According to Anadolu Agency, the exercise included training for numerous scenarios, integrating lessons from previous combat experiences, and the events of October 7, 2023. On that date, a retaliatory attack was launched by Palestinian resistance group Hamas and other factions from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel.

Israel has maintained control over most of the Syrian Golan Heights since 1967. Following the collapse of Bashar Assad's regime in late 2024, Israel declared the 1974 disengagement agreement void and extended its occupation to the Syrian buffer zone and strategic locations such as the Syrian side of Mount Hermon (Jabal al-Sheikh).

Additionally, Israel continues to occupy Palestinian and Lebanese territories, resisting international calls to withdraw and establish an independent Palestinian state in accordance with UN resolutions.
