Ankara: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Thursday that he anticipates the arrival of US President Donald Trump's envoys in Kyiv "in the coming days." In a video address, Zelenskyy detailed that he had convened with his negotiation team to prepare for forthcoming discussions with the United States aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy mentioned that "preliminary dates" have been set for the US envoys' visit to Kyiv, with plans for them to also visit Moscow. He emphasized the significance of Washington's active involvement in peace efforts, underscoring the urgency for talks in Kyiv soon.

Earlier this year, Moscow and Kyiv engaged in three rounds of peace negotiations under US mediation. These sessions took place on January 23-24, February 4-5, and February 17-18, occurring in Abu Dhabi and Geneva. However, negotiations have stalled due to the US conflict with Iran, which erupted in late February.

US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner have yet to visit Kyiv, despite multiple visits to Moscow since the onset of US-mediated talks. Their most recent visit was on January 22, when they met with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin.

Zelenskyy also noted having a productive phone conversation with Witkoff and Kushner earlier this week, during which they discussed solidifying the dates for their visit to Ukraine.
