1 Killed in Knife Attack at Supermarket in Northern Germany

Ratzeburg: One person was killed in a knife attack Wednesday at a supermarket in the northern German state of Schleswig-Holstein. A 'violent incident' occurred at around 3.50 pm local time (1350GMT) at a supermarket in Ratzeburg train station, the Lubeck Police Department said in a statement. One person was killed and the suspect was seriously injured, it said. Police took extensive security measures in the area, but said there was no danger to the public.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Kieler Nachrichten local newspaper reported that the victim was a woman and that the seriously injured suspect was taken to a Schleswig-Holstein University Hospital clinic in Lubeck.
