Greece: Greece vowed Wednesday to further deepen relations with Israel. 'The only thing that is certain is that we will not define international alliances based on the desires of other countries,' Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis told the SKAI broadcaster when he was reminded of the state of Turkish-Israeli relations, which further worsened following Israel's genocidal war against the Gaza Strip.

According to Anadolu Agency, Gerapetritis emphasized Greece's commitment to enhancing cooperation with Israel, citing significant benefits particularly in defense and technology sectors. He also highlighted Greece's strategic dialogue with the Arab world, maintaining Athens' unique position in the region.

On the matter of relations with Trkiye, strained by disputes over the demilitarization of Greek islands and potential territorial water expansions, Gerapetritis asserted Greece's readiness to protect its national interests. He downplayed the risk of an escalation into a crisis with Trkiye, stating, 'Our assessment is that there is no danger on the ground. Of course, we always remain vigilant.'

Gerapetritis noted the ongoing communication channels with Trkiye, referencing Turkish spy chief Ibrahim Kalin's recent visit to Athens as evidence of continued diplomatic engagement.
