Caribbean: The US military killed three people in a strike on a suspected drug-smuggling vessel in the Caribbean, as announced by US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM).

According to Anadolu Agency, the strike was conducted by the Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere on a speedboat navigating 'established narco-trafficking routes.' SOUTHCOM stated that confirmed intelligence indicated the vessel's active participation in narco-trafficking activities, and the individuals killed were identified as 'narco-terrorists.'

Since September of the previous year, the US has been regularly targeting vessels believed to be engaged in drug trafficking within the Caribbean Sea and the eastern Pacific Ocean. This is part of ongoing counternarcotics initiatives. The latest operation marks at least 69 such strikes, resulting in the deaths of at least 205 individuals, based on figures compiled by Military Times and Anadolu.
