Morocco: Moroccan Football Federation President Fouzi Lekjaa announced that the 2030 FIFA World Cup final will be held at the Hassan II Stadium, currently under construction in Ben Slimane province near Casablanca.

According to Anadolu Agency, Lekjaa made this statement during an event in Bouznika, expressing his hopes for a Morocco vs. France final. Morocco previously faced France in the semifinals of the 2022 World Cup and in the quarterfinals of the 2026 tournament, with France winning both encounters by a 2-0 scoreline.

The 2030 World Cup will be a joint effort by Morocco, Spain, and Portugal as co-hosts. The tournament will also commemorate the centenary of the World Cup, with the first three matches taking place in Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay. These countries were chosen to honor the 100th anniversary of the first World Cup held in Uruguay in 1930.

While the official announcement from FIFA regarding the final's host city is still pending, both Morocco and Spain have shown interest in hosting the final match. Ben Slimane province, located approximately 55 kilometers from Casablanca, is preparing for this prestigious event with the construction of the Hassan II Stadium. Once completed, the stadium is expected to accommodate around 115,000 spectators, potentially ranking it among the largest football stadiums worldwide.

Spanish Football Federation President Rafael Louzan has previously expressed Spain's interest in hosting the final, citing the country's capabilities to host such a significant event. However, FIFA recently clarified that reports suggesting President Gianni Infantino had assured Morocco of hosting the final were "false and misleading," emphasizing that no official decision has been made yet.
