Azerbaijan Confirms Fatalities in Drone Strike on Cargo Ship in Black Sea

Baku: Azerbaijan announced on Thursday that two of its citizens were killed in a drone strike targeting a foreign cargo ship in the Black Sea. The attack, which occurred on Wednesday, also resulted in injuries to two other Azerbaijani nationals, according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry.

According to Anadolu Agency, the injured citizens were hospitalized in Chornomorsk, a city located in southwestern Ukraine. The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry stated that it is working closely with diplomatic missions and relevant institutions from the involved countries to address the situation. The ministry emphasized that steps are being taken to ensure the return of the injured citizens to Azerbaijan after medical treatment, along with providing necessary consular support and managing funeral arrangements for the deceased.

The ministry reiterated its advisory urging Azerbaijani citizens to avoid traveling to or working in areas where military operations are active or where the security situation is considered unstable. No group or entity has claimed responsibility for the attack at this time.
