Istanbul: The GITEX AI Trkiye summit concluded its two-day event in Istanbul, gathering global tech giants, investors, and startups. The summit was hosted by Trkiye's Investment and Finance Office in collaboration with the Industry and Technology Ministry, with Anadolu acting as its global communications partner.
According to Anadolu Agency, Turkish Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacir delivered a keynote address on the final day. The event featured a range of presentations, sessions, and panel discussions, showcasing prominent global tech hardware and software providers such as Google Cloud, HPE, Nvidia, Dell Technologies, and Huawei.
Local innovation hubs like Yildiz Technopark and Istanbul Technical University's ARI leveraged the event to connect local startups with international investors. Twenty-four growth-stage startups from Trkiye's Turcorn 100 program showcased their operations, aiming to expand into global markets.
Key discussions centered on the practical integration of artificial intelligence (AI) across various sectors, including e-commerce logistics, digital fraud monitoring, and automated banking services. Notable speeches were delivered by Ahmet Burak Daglioglu, head of the Turkish Investment and Finance Office, and Sadullah Uzun from the Technology and AI General Directorate, among others.
Michael Lally, US Consul General in Istanbul, addressed the intersection of capital and code in the global tech economy. Meanwhile, Ekrem Arikan from the Central Securities Depository's management board discussed the potential of tokenized on-chain assets as a new infrastructure layer for markets.
Anadolu CEO Serdar Karagoz spoke about AI's impact on creative industries during a panel moderated by Gokhan Yucel, head of communications at the Turkish Investment and Finance Office. Discussions also focused on Trkiye's potential to attract tech growth capital and the critical needs of startups, such as infrastructure, market access, and talent retention.
The summit's panels addressed the development of inclusive and secure AI frameworks and examined next-generation connectivity networks like 5G.
