New delhi: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the necessity for the collective strength of BRICS nations to transform into tangible opportunities for their citizens and to amplify the voice of the Global South in determining its future. Speaking at the 18th BRICS Summit held in New Delhi, India, Prabowo highlighted the importance of translating this collective strength into real-world benefits and equitable international influence.
According to Anadolu Agency, President Prabowo remarked, "This is the kind of collective strength we need, strength that does not remain on paper, but translates into opportunities for our people; strength that enables the Global South to have a greater voice in shaping its own future." He stressed that the cooperative power of BRICS should also contribute to establishing a 'fairer and equal international order.'
The summit in the Indian capital convened leaders from BRICS countries with the aim of fostering a collaborative framework, as outlined in the anticipated New Delhi Declaration. This declaration is expected to lay the groundwork for implementing policy commitments into actionable strategies.
