Beirut: Israeli forces shelled several areas in southern Lebanon with artillery and machine guns Monday despite a ceasefire, according to Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA). The agency reported that the outskirts of Al-Deir neighborhood in Nabatieh al-Fawqa experienced intermittent Israeli artillery shelling in the morning.

According to Anadolu Agency, Israeli forces also fired machine guns toward the town of Beit Yahoun in the Bint Jbeil district. Overnight, Israeli artillery targeted the outskirts of Hadatha, the agency noted. Currently, there is no information available on casualties or damage resulting from these attacks.

Since March 2, Israeli attacks in Lebanon have resulted in nearly 4,400 deaths and 12,500 injuries, based on Lebanese figures. These assaults have persisted despite a US-mediated 'framework formula' signed by Beirut and Tel Aviv on June 26. The agreement outlines a gradual Israeli withdrawal from occupied territories in exchange for the deployment of the Lebanese army.

Israel maintains control over areas in southern Lebanon, some occupied for decades and others since the conflict between 2023 and 2024. The ongoing assault has seen an expansion of Israeli presence inside Lebanese territory.
